To do this First of all you have to do is download this small program

Fire it up and choose your settings. Keep the top two boxes checked. If you're concerned about network censorship, check the third box, check the last box.

Click Start Benchmark and wait while Namebench runs its tests. It should take several minutes. A browser tab should pop open when 
Namebench is done and give you a list of DNS servers and how much faster they are than the one you're currently using, unless yours are already the fastest possible.

Now Just Change your DNS in Preferred DNS server in your Ipv4 settings ...use the best DNS and get maximum internet speed. 
 
Namebench does not change your settings, but it's generally pretty easy to do it yourself. Check with the instructions you got from your ISP to set up your modem and/or router and just substitute the DNS addresses you received from Namebench for the addresses given by your ISP. It's best to do this with your router, as it will assign that DNS address for all the devices attached to it. 
 
That's it! This can dramatically improve your browsing speed, and it's fairly easy to work through.

dpkg -i <package.deb> Installs a package file; one that you downloaded manually, for example. 
 
dpkg -c <package.deb> Lists the contents of <package.deb> a .deb file. 
 
dpkg -I <package.deb> Extracts package information from <package.deb> a .deb file. 
 
dpkg -r <package> Removes an installed package named <package> 
 
dpkg -P <package> Purges an installed package named <package>. The difference between remove and purge is that while remove only deletes data and executables, purge also deletes all configuration files in addition. 
 
dpkg -L <package> Gives a listing of all the files installed by <package>. See also dpkg -c for checking the contents of a .deb file. 
 
dpkg -s <package> Shows information on the installed package <package>. See also apt-cache show for viewing package information in the Debian archive and dpkg -I for viewing package information extracted from a .deb file.

Telnet is the basic hacking tool, which every hacker must know how to 
use before he can even think about Hacking. It can be used to connect 
to remote computers and to run commands by simply typing them in it's 
window.Telnet does not use the resources of the client's computer but 
uses the resources of the server to which the client has connected. 
Basically it is a program that you will be using to connect to your 
victim's computer. It just requires that you and your victim are both 
conneced to the internet. 
 
How can I connect to a remote computers using telnet? 
 
Telnet can be started by going to start -> run and typing telnet Once 
the Telnet windows pops up click on Connect->RemoteSystem then in the 
host name type the host i.e. the IP address of the remote computer or 
the website you want to connect to . Then in the Port select the port 
you want to connect to . You can only connect to ports which are open 
on the host computer.Almost always leave the TermType to vt100.We use 
vt100 as it is compatible with most monitors . Then click connect and 
you will be connected to the remote machine in some time. 
The syntax of the telnet command from DOS prompt is 
C:\>telnet 
By default port is taken as 23. Scroll down and read more about ports 
 
What is an IP Address? 
 
Like in this world , everyone has a Home Address so that he can be 
contacted on that address , similarly all computers connected to the 
Internet are assigned a unique Internet Protocol or IP address which 
can be used to contact that particular computer. An IP is simply the 
address of a particular computer . Every computer connected to the 
internet has a differnet IP address. 
An IP address is of the form: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx .You can find your own 
IP by going to start->run and typing winipcfg.If you need to connect 
to a your friend's computer then you need the IP address of his 
computer . There are many ways of finding out the IP address of a 
person's computer without letting him know. 
 
What exactly is a Port? 
 
There are two kinds of ports-Physical(HardWare) and Virtual(Software) 
You may be thinking of ports to be the slots behind your CPU to which 
you connect your Mouse or Keyboard or your monitor. These sockets are 
called physical ports . We are here interested in only virtual ports. 
It is nothing physical but it is kind of a virtual pipe through which 
information can go in and out of the computer. A particular computer 
can have a large number of ports. All ports are numbered .Now at each 
port a particular service is running. A software which runs on a port 
is called service . For interchanging different kinds of information 
different ports are used. A typical list shows the various ports 
 
Ping : 7 
Systat : 11 
Time : 13 
NetStat : 15 
SSH : 22 
Telnet : 23 
SMTP : 25 
Whois : 43 
Finger : 79 
HTTP : 80 
POP : 110 
 
You can connect to a remote computer at a particular port. When you are 
connected to that port then you can interchange information related to 
that particular port only. Ports can be open or closed. If a particular 
port of a computer is closed then you can not connect to that computer 
on that port. Generally most of the computers have atleast 5 or 6 ports 
open. 
 
Whats a Daemon? 
 
A daemon is a program that runs at ports. You can consider it to be a 
software that manages the flow of information through the port . All 
the ports can have different daemon / services running on them 
 
Port Scanning?? 
 
It is the first step in finding a hackable server running a daemon. 
Like softwares can have bugs , similarly daemons can have a hole 
or a vulnerability .A hacker can utilize this hole for his purpose. 
Say you want to hack into someone's server , what do you do ? You 
need the IP address of the computer you want to connect to . This 
is the first basic step . Once you have the IP , you need to know 
which port is open so that you can connect to it . Every port may 
not be open so you need to find out a list of open ports which are 
running a daemon.Once you have the list of open ports on the victims 
computer then you can connect to any one of those ports .For this 
purpose we have port scanners. You just need to feed the IP address 
into the port scanner and it will give you the list of all the open 
ports of that IP.Some port scanners,alongwith the list of open ports 
also gives the service running on each port and its vulnerabilities. 
Once you have got the list of open ports then connect to each of them 
one by one and see what daemon or service they are running. 
 
But one thing you need to be careful about before port scanning is 
that most port scanners are very easily detected and can easily be 
traced and you have no excuse if you are caught doing a port scan. 
It a sure sign of Hacker Activity and if the host is running the 
right kind of Sniffer software maybe Etherpeek then the Port scan 
can be easily detected and the IP of the user logged . Once your 
IP is logged then you can be easily traced thru you internet 
service provider, so be careful with port scanning.

Major reason for both of them is 'badly architectured parametres' 
many say That remove/rename or unlink the database configuration file, ofcourse this will work but this is NOT the solution, as it will halt the functionality of the site, your 
Dynamic website will turn into just html pages in seconds, this is anologus to condition like, because of fear of robbery you don't buy anything for yourself too: P 
what we will be doing is sanitizing and validating php variables, we have make sure That our critical global arrays like get, post, files, session, cookies etc allow data which we 
Want them to store and nothing else, because we can't trust the fact that users will enter expected data. What we mean is suppose you have site script like this: 
 
blabla.com/news.php?id=8 
 
Now what dis means is, in our "news.php" script (in global GET array) we have an array location $_GET[id] which contains the value which is being passed via URL, 
In our case it is '8', what usually careless admins do is, pass on the get[] as it is to the database query which is to be executed so that proper content for id=8 
Can be extracted from database and thrown on the user screen, SQL query can be like : 
 
$news_query = "SELECT * FROM news WHERE NEWS ='".$_GET['id']."'"; 
 
Now if we manipulate the URL and write 'something' in place of 'expected' integer then we may break normal query and can execute our own queries! 
by breaking a query i mean, as in the above example we wrote 
 
NEWS ='$_GET[id]' 
 
if instead of expected id we write something like ==> 8'; eval_query; # 
now what our new url is ==> blabla.com/news.php?id=8'; eval_query; # 
our new query becomes ==> $news_query = "SELECT * FROM news WHERE NEWS ='8'; eval_query; #'; 
# is used to comment out query part after it, so now as u can see our "eval query" will be executed with normal expected query, eval query can be { DROP TABLE news} which will drop the "news"! 
we can prevent this if instead of directly using get[] variable in query we first validate them and then use them, by validating I mean, we make sure that URL variables contains 
only that data which we want them to store and nothing else (in this case, we want integers for id values), this depend on the programming of the script, we may sometimes want alphabets(lower case or upper case or both), 
numbers, some special characters etc . . . php gives us some function to do the same : 
in this case we can use "preg_replace" or maybe 'ereg_replace', i advertise preg_replace cause it has lot more functionality and is faster than ereg :) [you can search php.net if you want details about them] 
so here we want only numbers in id fiels so we wil add this line before querying it : 
 
$id = $_GET['id']; 
$vald_id = preg_replace('#[^0-9]#i', '', $id); 
 
first line is getting id variable from url via get and storing it in local variable $id, next we are cleaning it using preg_replace, so that it only contains numbers from 0-9 (if anything else is there it will replace it with a blank.space) and nothing else, we will use this cleaned variable 
$vald_id in our query. 
if we want some(defined) special characters along with alphabets we can write (in place of [^0-9]) : 
 
preg_replace('#[^A-Za-z,.?$@!]#i', '', $id); 
 
Now how to patch panels/forms of sites against sql 
suppose there is an admin panel say 
 
blabla.com/admin/ 
 
hit [ctrl+u] view source, crawl source and search for [action=], cause every html form will be processin and submitting form elements using php scripts, if its written something like 
action="" ==> this means php script is calling itself and its processing is done in same script 
if instead there ist written : 
action="login.php" [it can also call lol.php dosn't matter :P] 
this means all form data goes to login.php processed there and then sent to database. Main culprit is login.php because it is not filtering variables correcty! 
go to login.php, it wil be having lines looking like 
 
$username = $_POST['user']; 
$pass=$_POST['pass']; 
$loginquery = "SELECT * FROM tbl_admin WHERE username ='$username' AND password = '$pass'"; 
$result = mysql_query($loginquery); 
 
so we need to clean POST array elements before using them in a query 
we will use preg_replace as before and we will also use 
strip_tags as we don't want any html javascript elements in our form data, 
basic syntax is ==> strip_tags($variable) 
if you want to allow certain tags like 
then we can also do that as ==> strip_tags($var, '')

Session Hijacking is when an attacker gets access to Session Hijacking is when an attacker gets access to the session state of a particular user. The attacker steals a valid session ID which is used to get into the system and snoop the data. 
 
TCP session hijacking is when a hacker takes over a TCP session between two machines. Since most authentication only occurs at the start of a TCP session, this allows the hacker to gain access to a machine. 
 
Types of Session Hijacking 
There are two types of session hijacking attacks: 
 
Active: In an active attack, an attacker finds an active session and takes over 
 
Passive: With passive attack, an attacker hijacks a session, but sits back, and watches and records all the traffic that is being sent forth. 
 
 
Steps in Session Hijacking 
 
Place yourself between the victim and the target (you must be able to sniff the network) 
Monitor the flow of packets 
Predict the sequence number 
Kill the connection to the victim’s machine 
Take over the session 
Start injecting packets to the target server.

How to Install backtrack 5 r1 in your computer | Pc complete tutorial

Hello friends like i told you previously that i will be launching a series of tutorial on backtrack starting from beginner level to middle level expert level :).if you are a new visitor the see my this post on backtrack.

Installing Backtrack Is very simple as you can it is so simple to do with following steps never imagine.

As i don't have enough time to capture screen shot and put them here, i heve decided to take images from hackingarticles Which is maintain By Raj Chandel (Backtrack Expert) he is Just like my elder brother . 
One thing i forget to tell if you want to use backtrack with in window 7 use VMware and follow the tutorial below.

<h2>How to become a hacker?</h2>Before entering into hacking stuff lets know What Is a Hacker? 
There is a community, a shared culture, of expert programmers and networking wizards that traces its history back through decades to the first time-sharing minicomputers and the earliest ARPAnet experiments. The members of this culture originated the term ‘hacker’. Hackers built the Internet. Hackers made the Unix operating system what it is today. Hackers run Usenet. Hackers make the World Wide Web work. If you are part of this culture, if you have contributed to it and other people in it know who you are and call you a hacker, you're a hacker. 
The hacker mind-set is not confined to this software-hacker culture. There are people who apply the hacker attitude to other things, like electronics or music — actually, you can find it at the highest levels of any science or art. Software hackers recognize these kindred spirits elsewhere and may call them ‘hackers’ too — and some claim that the hacker nature is really independent of the particular medium the hacker works in. But in the rest of this document we will focus on the skills and attitudes of software hackers, and the traditions of the shared culture that originated the term ‘hacker’. 
There is another group of people who loudly call themselves hackers, but aren't. These are people (mainly adolescent males) who get a kick out of breaking into computers and phreaking the phone system. Real hackers call these people ‘crackers’ and want nothing to do with them. Real hackers mostly think crackers are lazy, irresponsible, and not very bright, and object that being able to break security doesn't make you a hacker any more than being able to hotwire cars makes you an automotive engineer. Unfortunately, many journalists and writers have been fooled into using the word ‘hacker’ to describe crackers; this irritates real hackers no end. 
The basic difference is this: hackers build things, crackers break them. 
If you want to be a hacker, keep reading. If you want to be a cracker, go read the alt.2600 newsgroup and get ready to do five to ten in the slammer after finding out you aren't as smart as you think you are. And that's all I'm going to say about crackers. 
 
The Hacker Attitude 
 
Hackers solve problems and build things, and they believe in freedom and voluntary mutual help. To be accepted as a hacker, you have to behave as though you have this kind of attitude yourself. And to behave as though you have the attitude, you have to really believe the attitude.Hackers love to expose the hidden unknown feature. 
But if you think of cultivating hacker attitudes as just a way to gain acceptance in the culture, you'll miss the point. Becoming the kind of person who believes these things is important for you — for helping you learn and keeping you motivated. As with all creative arts, the most effective way to become a master is to imitate the mind-set of masters — not just intellectually but emotionally as well. 
Or, as the following modern Zen poem has it:

 follow the master, 
 walk with the master, 
 see through the master, 
 become the master. 
 
So, if you want to be a hacker, repeat the following things until you believe them: 
 
1. The world is full of fascinating problems waiting to be solved.

Successful athletes get their motivation from a kind of physical delight in making their bodies perform, in pushing themselves past their own physical limits. Similarly, to be a hacker you have to get a basic thrill from solving problems, sharpening your skills, and exercising your intelligence. 
If you aren't the kind of person that feels this way naturally, you'll need to become one in order to make it as a hacker. Otherwise you'll find your hacking energy is sapped by distractions like sex, money, and social approval. 
(You also have to develop a kind of faith in your own learning capacity — a belief that even though you may not know all of what you need to solve a problem, if you tackle just a piece of it and learn from that, you'll learn enough to solve the next piece — and so on, until you're done.) 
2. No problem should ever have to be solved twice. 
Creative brains are a valuable, limited resource. They shouldn't be wasted on re-inventing the wheel when there are so many fascinating new problems waiting out there. 
To behave like a hacker, you have to believe that the thinking time of other hackers is precious — so much so that it's almost a moral duty for you to share information, solve problems and then give the solutions away just so other hackers can solve new problems instead of having to perpetually re-address old ones. 
Note, however, that "No problem should ever have to be solved twice." does not imply that you have to consider all existing solutions sacred, or that there is only one right solution to any given problem. Often, we learn a lot about the problem that we didn't know before by studying the first cut at a solution. It's OK, and often necessary, to decide that we can do better. What's not OK is artificial technical, legal, or institutional barriers (like closed-source code) that prevent a good solution from being re-used and force people to re-invent wheels. 
(You don't have to believe that you're obligated to give all your creative product away, though the hackers that do are the ones that get most respect from other hackers. It's consistent with hacker values to sell enough of it to keep you in food and rent and computers. It's fine to use your hacking skills to support a family or even get rich, as long as you don't forget your loyalty to your art and your fellow hackers while doing it.) 
3. Boredom and drudgery are evil. 
Hackers (and creative people in general) should never be bored or have to drudge at stupid repetitive work, because when this happens it means they aren't doing what only they can do — solve new problems. This wastefulness hurts everybody. Therefore boredom and drudgery are not just unpleasant but actually evil. 
To behave like a hacker, you have to believe this enough to want to automate away the boring bits as much as possible, not just for yourself but for everybody else (especially other hackers). 
(There is one apparent exception to this. Hackers will sometimes do things that may seem repetitive or boring to an observer as a mind-clearing exercise, or in order to acquire a skill or have some particular kind of experience you can't have otherwise. But this is by choice — nobody who can think should ever be forced into a situation that bores them.) 
4. Freedom is good. 
Hackers are naturally anti-authoritarian. Anyone who can give you orders can stop you from solving whatever problem you're being fascinated by — and, given the way authoritarian minds work, will generally find some appallingly stupid reason to do so. So the authoritarian attitude has to be fought wherever you find it, lest it smother you and other hackers. 
(This isn't the same as fighting all authority. Children need to be guided and criminals restrained. A hacker may agree to accept some kinds of authority in order to get something he wants more than the time he spends following orders. But that's a limited, conscious bargain; the kind of personal surrender authoritarians want is not on offer.) 
Authoritarians thrive on censorship and secrecy. And they distrust voluntary cooperation and information-sharing — they only like ‘cooperation’ that they control. So to behave like a hacker, you have to develop an instinctive hostility to censorship, secrecy, and the use of force or deception to compel responsible adults. And you have to be willing to act on that belief. 
5. Attitude is no substitute for competence. 
To be a hacker, you have to develop some of these attitudes. But copping an attitude alone won't make you a hacker, any more than it will make you a champion athlete or a rock star. Becoming a hacker will take intelligence, practice, dedication, and hard work. 
Therefore, you have to learn to distrust attitude and respect competence of every kind. Hackers won't let posers waste their time, but they worship competence — especially competence at hacking, but competence at anything is valued. Competence at demanding skills that few can master is especially good, and competence at demanding skills that involve mental acuteness, craft, and concentration is best. 
If you revere competence, you'll enjoy developing it in yourself — the hard work and dedication will become a kind of intense play rather than drudgery. That attitude is vital to becoming a hacker.

Vulnerability scanning has always played a vital part to strengthen the security of the server at which your useful sites are hosted. It can also be used to scan the security of the computer which is connected to the internet. It basically scans the open ports and then checks for the vulnerabilities present in the services running on those ports.It is always useful for a server admin or else of any system to be aware of the weak points of the server security so that he may make it a hack proof system. That's why I decided to post a tutorial on this site to help you all scan for the weakness in accordance with the latest increasing available exploits.I suggest using backtrack as every thing is already cooked up there. In any other Linux you may have to install all the packages first. 
<h2>Installing Nessus in Linux:-</h2> 
Download the Nessus from the official site. Run the following commands under the terminal, If it's present in Downloads:- 
 
cd /root/Downloads (replace root with the username using which you have logged in)dpkg -i Nessus-4.4.1-ubuntu1010_i386.deb 
Note:- "Nessus-4.4.1-ubuntu1010_i386.deb" is the name of downloaded .deb file. It depends on your version and name of the downloaded nessus version.

<h2>Registering and Setting up Nessus:-</h2> 
Lets start this part. 
<li>I am using "Backtrack 5 r1", So, here I shall go to (A little bit of further effort may tell you how to configure that in any other Linux, as its not much different. Except the menus might be different) Applications>Backtrack>Vulnerability Assessment>Vulnerability Scanners>Nessus>Nessus Register .

<li>Browser will popup and there it will give you choice whether to use nessus at home or at commercial level. For commercial use you have to purchase a license. So, I am assuming you want to use it at home. Thus select "Using Nessus at home" and next click agree at next page. 
</li> 
 
 
<li>There provide your email address and then login into your email account and there you have to verify it for nessus and get the activation code needed. Copy that code provided in email which is in the format of xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx 
</li> 
 
 
<li>Open up the terminal and there write following command:- 
/opt/nessus/bin/nessus-fetch --register xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx 
So, press enter, wait for nessus to fetch newest plugins to scan vulnerabilities and after that your nessus is registered and is ready to be used. Close the terminal.

<li>Now again to go the panel and Applications>Backtrack>Vulnerability Assessment>Vulnerability Scanners>Nessus>nessus user add. There terminal will popup and then write your username there (Any which you may like) and press enter and write down the password.(Password characters may not be shown not even dots. So, don't worry just write the password),If it asks to give admin privileges in terminal type "y" and press enter. If it asks for any rules then just press enter. And in end it will ask for confirmation type "y" and hit enter.

<li>Now, lets start nessus. Applications>Backtrack>Vulnerability Assessment>Vulnerability Scanners>Nessus>Nessus Start and click it. Terminal will popup showing starting Nessus.

<li>Open up Mozilla (In my case mozilla worked well than chrome. Flash plugin must be pre-installed in browser.). Navigate to :- https://127.0.0.1:8834 and if it asks for exeption just add one. And let the nessus load. After loading just put the username which you have selected in step number 5 earlier and also type the password chosen there. Hit login and you have a working nessus.
